My Celestial Phoenix: handcrafted exotic jewelry is a celebration of Nature, travel and motherhood. The business, named for my daughter Phoenix Celeste, reflects my creative inspirations in Latin American wire artistry and the abundant diversity found in Nature. Most pieces incorporate found materials from my travels throughout the Americas, such as stones, feathers, bones, teeth, shells and seeds. These are complimented by stones or beads acquired along the way. You can be rest assured that materials are obtained ecologically. No animals, big or small, are killed for the purposes of my craft. Whenever possible, I recycle old jewelry and trade for other materials incorporated into my work. Each piece tells a story, and via this blog, you can learn about the natural history of the plants and animals who are represented in my work.
